ricRACK Creative Reuse Shop

and Community Sewing Studio: engaging the community to create sustainably

ricRACK is an inclusive space for the creative community of New Orleans.

Our primary objectives include keeping textiles out of the landfill and

teaching all of New Orleans how to sew.

Our monthly Community Textile Recycling Days serve as collection points for donations and end-of-life textiles, diverting them from landfills. These events educate the public on responsible textile disposal.

The supplies we use and the stock we sell are generously donated to us from both film and television productions and the general community.

Our Creative Reuse Shop carries a curated selection of clothing, accessories, shoes, jewelry and more; in addition to a wide selection of fabric, notions, and various

fiber arts related supplies.

If you have items you would like to donate, please check out what we are currently accepting and our donation policy here.

In our Community Sewing Studio, we offer a wide assortment of classes geared to

ages 8 and up. Please see our COURSES in the menu above to see our current offerings.

In addition to the classes in our sewing studio, we also partner with many local schools, museums, libraries, community centers, and more to teach kids and adults how to sew. If you are interested in partnering, please email outreach@ricracknola.com

We offer various volunteer opportunities for people who want to help an organization committed to the community and teaching kids and adults how to sew & create sustainably. If you are interested in volunteering, please email volunteer@ricracknola.com
