COSTUME AND FABRIC DONATIONS

The great thing about our costume donation program is FREE SHIPPING for the donor!! If you have costume-y pieces, fun fabric, sewing supplies (or sewing machines!!), let us help you clean out your closet or stockroom! There are no scissors too dull and no trim too short. These are the supplies and materials we use for our classes. We want to give your unwanted materials a new life and keep your fabrics out of landfills.

Of course, all donations are tax deductible.

resale shop 1

Starting September 2016, we have started a lil re-sale shop in our studio, 2359 St. Claude Ave.  Our warehouse was becoming overwhelmed with fabrics, too many for what we need in the classes, so we decided to try to earn some extra funding for our programs, by beginning a re-sale section of ricRACK.

In our shop, you can find discarded fabrics from Broadway shows, films, TV, local designers, retailers….as well as zippers, trims, dyes, spray paints, beads, and everything in between!

Also, most of our fundraising has been done through our massive wardrobe sale Hollywood Thrift.  HT has now turned into a 3-day shopping extravaganza.  We sell clothing, costumes, and accessories donated to us by theatres, tv, and film.  We’re stupendously grateful to all the shows who have donated to us, but most especially, the HBO series GIRLS.

If you have a donation to Hollywood Thrift, please drop Alison a line @ This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS

We have a great little sewing studio in St. Roch and a storage space in an Algiers warehouse, but these come with rental expenses and utility bills each month. If you donate to us financially, we'll not only use it to help us with these monthly expenses, but also to help us with our 2017 goals…an entrepreneurship program, and new methods to show kids how to re-purpose old threads.

We rely very little on grants, due in part to the cost of grant writing, but also, pending the state of the political climate, we didn’t want our funding to rely on grants.

Your financial donations help us keep the doors open.

Period.

We know you have many choices of wonderful non-profits that need help, and we are honored that you would consider ricRACK!

The quickest and easiest way to send us a financial donation is to hit that exquisite little Paypal button in the bottom right corner or e-mail our captain, Alison, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

ricRACK Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. If you desire a tax deductible receipt for your donation, please let us know.

Making a difference

A boy is walking along the beach when he stumbles across thousands of starfish that have washed up. He starts to pick them up and throw them back in. A man approaches him and says, "Son, don't bother. There are too many. You won't make a difference." The boy picks up another, throws it back in, and says, "I made a difference to that one."--Loren Eiseley
